Zellige Terms & Conditions

100% Handmade Moroccan Zellige
USAGE GUIDE BODY
Our tile is entirely crafted by hand and consists of 100% handmade clay. Small
imperfections such as tiny cracks and chips that add character to the rustic nature of
the tile are not considered a defect.
All items are handmade in Mexico & Morocco; these tiles must be treated and
considered in a similar manner to a natural product. Each tile is different from the
next, made by hand and crafted specifically for your project.
The following characteristics are not defects—they are part of what makes Zellige
beautiful and authentic:
● Chips off the surface of the glaze exposing the clay beneath
● Dips or unevenness in the surface
● Irregular or rough tile edges
● Ink, pencil, or pen marks on the glazed surface
● Epoxy visible from the back side of preassembled mosaic sheets
● Uneven grout spacing between mosaic pieces
● Color variation from piece to piece
● Natural clay visible on the tile’s surface
● Slight differences in thickness
Shade variation is inherent in all kiln-fired clay products. It’s completely normal for
the tiles you receive to vary slightly from showroom samples—this is what gives
Zellige its soul.
Goods are sold subject to normal and natural color variation. Samples are provided as
a helpful reference, but should not be considered exact.
Floor Applications
Our tiles are suitable for use in low-traffic residential floors. Like all handmade
terracotta, they’ll require thoughtful care and may patina over time.
For cleaning, we recommend a damp mop and pH-neutral cleaner. Avoid bleach,
ammonia, paint thinner, or anything abrasive. Never scrub with rough materials that
could scratch or damage the surface.
Due to natural variance, slip resistance may differ between tiles. For clients seeking a
flawless or commercial-grade floor finish, Zellige may not be the right fit.
Exterior Use
These tiles can be used outside, but color may fade with prolonged sun exposure.
Outdoor installation is at the client’s discretion.
Wet Applications
Zellige can be installed in wet areas such as showers, steam rooms, and saunas. If
used for submerged applications (like pools or fountains), we strongly recommend
proper waterproofing and installation practices.
Use of unglazed Zellige in water applications should be sealed after installation and
resealed annually.
Tiles should not be used in areas subject to regular freezing temperatures. The
Lifestyle Lab is not responsible for failure due to freeze/thaw exposure or water
damage.
Glazed Zellige mosaics do not meet P5 slip ratings for wet areas. Usage in such areas
is at the end client’s discretion. Unglazed mosaics meet the P5 standard and can be
used in any wet or commercial setting.
Please consult your tile installer about substrate, adhesives, and sealants. The
Lifestyle Lab is not responsible for:
● Substrate issues causing cracking
● Moisture damage from unsealed surfaces
● Incorrect adhesive or sealant use
Countertop Use
Zellige can be used on countertops, though clients should expect some patina over
time. Tiles are not perfectly flat and may not be ideal for all work surfaces. Excessive
heat and spills may damage the surface.
Inspection, Returns & Cancellations
Inspect all orders immediately upon delivery. Make sure quantities and items match
your invoice. Any damage must be reported within 5 business days of delivery.
Once tiles are installed, they are considered accepted. We cannot honor claims for
installed material.
Custom orders cannot be canceled or refunded. The Lifestyle Lab is not responsible for damage after delivery or during storage.
Sealing
We recommend sealing all unglazed tiles before and after grouting. Resealing yearly
will preserve finish and color. Always test your chosen sealant on a spare tile before
full application.

Cleaning & Maintenance
Treat our tiles like natural stone. Avoid harsh cleaners, bleach, or acidic solutions. Use
a pH-neutral stone cleaner with a soft cloth.
We are not responsible for damage caused by improper cleaners or tools. Always test
your cleaning products before use.
Ordering Process
All orders must be submitted in writing to team@thelifestylelabshowroom.com or
placed at thelifestylelab.shop. Quotes must be signed and dated to proceed.
Orders under 10 sq ft require full payment.
Orders over 10 sq ft require a 50% deposit with the balance due 1 week before
arrival.
Production begins once payment is received.
Shipping, Storage & Freight
We use third-party freight partners. Clients can arrange their own freight with a
registered carrier (a warehouse pick fee may apply). Storage fees apply after 3
business days.
Once picked up from our logistics partner, we are no longer responsible for the
condition of the tile. If long-term storage is needed, please contact us for pricing.
Order Quantities & Overage
We recommend ordering an additional 10–20% to cover breakage, variation, and
cuts. For tighter color control, consider a higher overage.
We’re happy to help estimate square footage, but final measurements are the client’s
responsibility.
Privacy
We value your privacy. All client information is kept secure and never shared or sold.
You may receive occasional product or promotion updates unless you opt out.

The Lifestyle Lab retains rights to reference project photos for advertising or social

Disclaimer
In the rare event of a product failure, The Lifestyle Lab may choose to repair or
replace the defective material (limited to the original square foot cost). All claims
must be submitted before reinstallation begins.
We are not liable for damage caused by improper installation, structural issues, or
external factors like water, weather, or wear and tear.
